Sales
policy for Secondary Stainless
All
secondary stainless steel is sold on the basis of the buyer assuming the full
risk for the product at the time of sale, providing that the steel is the
correct chemistry, gauge, temper and width. Secondary material is sold
without mill test reports.
"Lab certs" are available on request for secondary products to
include test data on chemistry, mechanical properties and hardness. These
tests require a coupon to be cut from the coil which is then sent to a certified
metallurgical lab of our choice or yours. Our customer assumes all costs
for sample preparation, mailing and the test fees. Your Taunton
sales representative can advise you of the cost for this service. Be aware
that the request for lab certs may delay shipping by a few days. The test
results are not a basis for sale unless said results conflict with the grade,
gauge, temper or width as initially presented.
Taunton
will accept the material back within 30 days if it is not suitable and if it is
returned in the original condition.
Once the
coil is altered or processed in any manner (slit, cut-to-length, polished) it is
the property of the buyer and not returnable.
Upon
approval for return, the customer agrees to pay the inbound freight as invoiced
and Taunton will pay for the return freight.
Taunton
accepts no charges for processing, yield loss, part failure or any other
consequential costs related to the secondary steel.
Terms of
sale are 30 days from date of invoice.
